Abyss odyssey Is a Chilean indie project that incorporates many different mechanics from all kinds of genres. The combat system is taken straight from fighting games, with combos and finishing moves, camera and perspective from 2D platformers, and randomly generated levels from roguelike games. At the start, there are three different protagonists to choose from: Katrien, the Phantom Monk, and the goddess Pinkoya.

The goal of the heroes' journey will be to search in the depths of the Earth for an ancient evil sorcerer with great knowledge, who poisons the city of Santiago in Chile with his desires. The 19th century was chosen for the time of action and style, interspersed with fictional and non-existent in the real world. The protagonists are destined to spend their lives in endless battles with nightmarish creatures in the spacious halls of the dungeons.

A distinctive feature of the gameplay is the mechanics of capturing the soul. To activate this ability, you need to steal his essence from a beaten and practically dead enemy. Thanks to this, the main characters will learn to take their form and use their unique abilities. In total, more than 30 types of opponents are available in "Odyssey Abyss", all of them can be used by gamers after capture. In addition to melee fights and using melee weapons, it is possible to find magic scrolls with spells at locations, for example, freezing or cursing enemy units.

It is possible to invite a friend to a cooperative walkthrough both at one computer in split-screen mode, and over the network. There is also a special "Versus" mode for 2-4 players, where you can fight each other in the format every man for himself or in teams.
