Angry Birds Rio is closely related to the Rio cartoon, which is reflected in both the gameplay and the plot. It seems that the unfortunate birds did not have enough problems with the pigs and now they have to confront poachers. The story begins with the birds falling into a trap on their native Island. They are put in cages and sent to Rio de Janeiro, separated from their unhatched chicks. As is traditional in the series, the birds become enraged, break out of their cages and go on the warpath. First, they fight back against the poachers, and then against the primates in the jungle, meeting many characters from the cartoon along the way. As a result, the birds manage to return back to their homeland. However, there they are again met by their old enemies - the green pigs. Several changes have also been made to the gameplay:
- Goal. Most of the levels will involve not defeating opponents, but destroying poachers' cages. In spite of the fact that the mechanics themselves have remained unchanged.
- Bosses. For the first time in the series, full-fledged battles with them have appeared. There will be two of them in total, and both are antagonists from Rio.
- Bonuses. New hidden collectibles and help from story companions have appeared.
Otherwise, the Angry Birds have remained unchanged. The player will face 196 levels, each a little more difficult or inventive than the previous one. For completing each, you can get different grades and a number of points, which serve as an indicator of success and skill. In addition, there are various achievements and awards that motivate you to complete the game in unusual ways.
