Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia introduces a dynamic process focused on exploration. Freely moving in different directions, users move through dungeons and various environments, using the unique abilities of the Reyvateils in their party. Spells such as lighting candles, removing obstacles, and activating switches add a strategic layer to the exploration process. Random encounters with enemy creatures keep you on your toes, and a bar shows the probability of such encounters and the number of battles remaining in a given area. As soon as the scale is exhausted, there is a temporary reprieve from random encounters until the player exits and re-enters the area. In cities, landmarks can be easily navigated by selecting them from a menu, creating an exciting map of the field. As the story progresses, additional landmarks are unlocked depending on certain conditions, encouraging revisiting locations for new discoveries. The world map is a comprehensive 3D image showing accessible locations and simplifies navigation. Returning to previously visited areas is made easier as gamers scroll to the entrance and decide to enter.
