The main character of ARMA: Combat Operations is an American military man who went on a mission to the fictional island of Sarani. It is divided into 2 parts. The first is occupied by the local socialist state. The second is a banana republic that lives off tourism. The plot begins with the socialists forming the Sarani Liberation Army and invading the republic. The hero, fighting on the side of the latter, helps restore peace on the island. The ARMA story campaign: Military Operations consists of more than 20 separate tasks. You can complete them in any order, which affects the development of the story. However, the game is not focused on the narrative. The gameplay is in the foreground, as before, promoting realism and simulation. For example, characters die from just a couple of shots, and if you swim for too long, you can lose some of your equipment. Multiplayer for more than 100 participants also adheres to realism, and therefore, instead of classic team battles, tactical battles reign there. Not only the mechanics, but also the environment are meticulously recreated. The flora and fauna of the local nature, as well as all the equipment, are modeled on real-life objects. Thus, the game has more than 30 types of weapons and 30 units of equipment, not only looking but also behaving like their real prototypes. Even the sky and constellations are fully simulated for orientation on the map.
