In Backworlds, the user literally finds himself between two worlds - color and black and white. Each of them is interesting in its own way, and all objects that are also at the junction can change their purpose depending on their location. The gamer's task is to use them exactly as needed in a given situation. But this does not mean that there are any limits here - on the contrary, you can use any available mechanics and resources to achieve the result. In terms of the meaning and structure of the gameplay, Backworlds is a platformer where the main character moves around two-dimensional locations. A special cursor is used to move and interact with the world, which can not only indicate the direction of movement, but also make those very transitions between worlds. For example, if you find yourself next to a portable block, you can drag it into a black and white dimension to use it as a stand and get to a hard-to-reach part of the level. Sometimes, you can independently designate transition points by painting them in certain shades. After that, you just need to move there and continue the interaction. As you progress, you can visit 4 unique worlds that differ in their structure, number and complexity of puzzles. Somewhere everything is limited to jumping over platforms, and in other places - solving problems with several components at once. It is worth mentioning separately about the battles with bosses, where you will have to use all the previously accumulated skills.
