Backyard Wrestling: Dont Try This at Home brings an unconventional twist to the action genre. The campaign pays special attention to the use of the environment, and also combines elements of classic professional wrestling video games and 3D platform fighters, such as Power Stone. The main objective is to use the environment to defeat opponents. Set in a variety of locations, from a truck stop to a talk show, each location is decorated with a variety of dangerous objects, such as bats with barbed wire, fluorescent light bulbs, breakable tables, steel chairs, and more, allowing you to damage your opponents. Special Mode The story, known as the talk show, mimics the Jerry Springer format, with the tagline Topic of the Day. A host similar to co-creator Kevin Gill interviews various personalities and victims from the backyard wrestling scene. Following these discussions, the character steps into the shoes of the victim, engaging in combat with three other backyard wrestlers, knocking them down to a single health bar. A diverse array of dangerous objects to fight in, as well as unconventional venues, including a slaughterhouse and a strip club. In the storyline, gamers embody interviewees for a fight. The gameplay combines classic wrestling mechanics with 3D platformer elements.
