The old-school arcade project Battle Axe is an adventure action, slasher. The main motive of the story is the liberation of the homeland of the heroes, a land called Mercia, from a witch named Etheldreda. On the user's side - three characters - a girl in a black cloak with a saber, who resembles a thief, a gray-haired sorcerer with a magic staff, and a powerful elf with a portable gun on his shoulder. Playing on your own, you need to choose one of them, but there is also an option to play with someone on the same screen.Battle Axe consists of four levels. The mechanics that come to the fore here are top-down battles with monsters, including the ability to dismember them. Battles look dynamic and spectacular, after killing enemies you need to collect the loot that fell from them. Locations are varied: mysterious forests, ancient castles, mountains, hellish terrain with lava everywhere and others. In battles, you can interact with the environment: break down fortified towers with enemies, blow up barrels of gunpowder, and also look for chests with valuables. During the game, you will have to fight mini-bosses: a large creature that looks like a spider with a shell, a dragon, or a ship with cannons, which is controlled by monsters.
