Battlestations: Midway gives control over a large number of types of naval forces from World War II. You will have to become a pilot of a ship, submarines, fighters. Monitor the flotilla and air base. Decision-making affects historical events. You will have to conduct naval confrontations, air attacks and surprise strikes from under the water. The duty of the commander-in-chief is to give orders to the US or Japanese army. The stages of the war are based on real facts and battles. The hero has access to: heavenly space, the Pacific floor and water expanses. You will need to carry out decrees, destroy enemy transport and explore places. The in-game currency is battle points, for which you can buy military equipment for the next levels. 12 additional tasks are available. There is a change of day and night. Weather conditions change, which spoil the protection of armored vehicles - storm and thunderstorm.In the single-player game Battlestations: Midway, a list of modes is presented:
- US Campaign - combines a number of missions, starting with Pera Harbor, the terrible events of which took place in 1941.
- Naval Academy - training missions that help get used to piloting. The player will be able to learn all aspects of naval battles.
- Ship School - gives command of American or Japanese ships.
- Summer School - conducting air flights using aircraft from Japan.
- Underwater School - reconnaissance on a submarine.
