Hero Ryu travels with Princess Nina from Wyndia to help her find her sister Ellina. Meanwhile, the very first emperor Fou-Lu, who founded an aggressive country, wakes up. Both main characters have the ability to transform into dragons. In the future, their fates will intertwine.

In Breath of Fire 4, there is a semblance of achievements. Here you can find masters who allow party members to acquire new skills.
