Chaser is a game that is difficult to give a clear assessment. There is an intricate plot, as for an old-fashioned action game, in a futuristic theme, a variety of gameplay mechanics, cutscenes with a good production, and at the same time - two-thirds of the missions consisting of incomprehensible fuss, inspiring boredom and despair. At a certain point, Chaser sets the player such tasks that require Buddhist calm, perseverance and dexterity at the same time, despite the fact that the locations are boring, the dynamics are sagging, and in general there is an impression of a waste of time.Chaser also suffers from jumpy difficulty levels in the absence of primitive navigation in some episodes where you need to explore a vast territory. If at first the enemies seem like clumsy blockheads, and the protagonist is an invulnerable killing machine, then closer to the end the sides abruptly change roles. The hero becomes almost defenseless and dies from enemy missiles that are aimed with sniper accuracy. Naturally, the villains themselves are in no hurry to die from a direct hit from the same shells. In general, the game is a typical first-person shooter with the ability to slow down the environment around the character. In slo-mo mode, it is much easier to shoot at moving targets, which gives a tactical advantage over the enemy. The gameplay consists of action, interspersed with animated screensavers and elements of sals. Also available are Counter-Strike style multiplayer modes - deathmatch and capture the flag.
