Children of Zodiarcs is a story about the eternal conflict between the rich and the poor, the well-fed and the hungry, the reformer and the rigid system, where there is no justice and equality. Despite the cute cartoonish graphics and a trio of children as the main characters, Children of Zodiarcs has a deep, serious story. A gang of teenagers, led by the purposeful girl Nahmi, is engaged in robbery, taking away dishonestly acquired goods from corrupt adults. They take the loot to their curator - a huge giant with a mace, who uses the children to hunt for powerful artifacts Zodiarkami.Each character has a pronounced personality and abilities that must be skillfully used in battle, since it is the battles that play the leading role here. Children, accustomed to the cruelty of the world, without the slightest hesitation shed blood, using the ingenuity of Nahmi, the shooting skills of the timid Pester and the choleric temperament of the half-educated mage Bryce. Battles take place in a turn-based strategy system, where the player needs to use two tools to make moves - cards and dice.The deck is assembled as the storyline progresses, and expands the range of actions available to the player. Symbols on the dice give a random bonus. Blue color indicates positive effects such as healing, an extra move, increased attack power or adding extra cards; red symbols promise a penalty. If the throw is unsuccessful, you can try again using two dice.The characters are not voiced, but the detailed lore, exciting adventures and orchestral soundtrack immerse you in the atmosphere of the game. The disadvantages of the project include the camera angle, which the player is constantly forced to adjust independently. Nevertheless, the total number of positive aspects outweigh the disadvantages: nice visuals, dynamic gameplay, music, original combination of tactics and collectible cards as a nice bonus.
