Clockwork Empires allows you to build and develop a colony in a world that combines elements of the Victorian era and steampunk. Gamers are offered to establish a settlement under the leadership of bureaucrats on a randomly generated territory. In addition to resources, colonists will encounter hostile creatures. The project was inspired by the work of Howard Lovecraft, so you can stumble upon fishmen and cults, as well as summon Cthulhu. Clockwork Empires is a fusion of a city-building simulator and an economic strategy. Users can build buildings of any shape and change the interiors to their taste. You can build farms, chapels, workshops, laboratories, mines and other buildings. Each resident has a character, features, memories and needs. People are divided into workers, soldiers and guards. The population of the border town is very capricious. People disappointed in their ruler can start to engage in occultism and cannibalism. In the town, it is necessary to improve the infrastructure, establish resource extraction and production of goods. And also periodically repel attacks by monsters or bandits. Officially, the indie project left early access after the long-term construction stage, but did not receive further polishing. The sandbox has enough bugs, optimization problems and unfinished moments (for example, some chains with crafting are broken). The product remains raw, there have been no updates since the long-ago release.
