Crimson Clover EXplosion gives the opportunity to control a spaceship. The gameplay of the game is based on the destruction of a mass of enemies in order to pass to the next level. At the end of each level, a powerful boss appears, which is more difficult to defeat than ordinary dummies, because it has much more firepower. The game has three difficulty levels. Beginner, suitable for people who have not played games of this genre before. Arcade, which has an original difficulty level. And the so-called installation, which is an extremely difficult level. Crimson Clover EXplosion has several game modes at once:

• Original - the main one, the one in which you need to get to the boss through the level in order to defeat him.
• Accelerated - a mode in which there is no loss of lives.
• Unlimited - a very difficult mode, where only the strongest will be able to survive.
• Time attack mode - you need to complete the level in a certain time.
• Training - you can set up your own level scenario.

Each level requires a lot of shooting, with each enemy defeated earning points, the more points you accumulate, the better. Glasses can be spent on modernization of the selected ship, improving its weapons. And the spaceships themselves can also be chosen. They are different in the game, everyone has both their strengths and weaknesses.
