In the Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai project, the player will learn the history of the library. The game belongs to the visual novel genre, telling the story through dialogues and directing the user to one of the endings through the choice of answers. The protagonist, a student at Shiomi Academy named Kyotaro Kakei, is a keen reader. He is the only member of the library club, and enjoys reading alone from the endless collection of books - a hobby he has had since childhood, when he was fond of books about magic. One day, he receives a letter from a certain shepherd. It did not bode well, so Kyotaro decides to become a better person - and saves a certain girl at a tram stop, who turns out to be Tsugumi Shirasaki. She is also a student at Shiomi High, and also received a letter from a shepherd, deciding to make the entire Academy more interesting. The player will have to restore the glory of the library club by meeting new people and establishing relationships with them. The game includes the following characters:

• Kyotaro, the protagonist - a reserved and kind lover of reading.
• Tsugumi is a real leader, she sews and knows how to cook, in love with the protagonist.
• Tamamo Sakuraba is a serious and independent daughter of wealthy parents.
• Senri Misono is a girl who likes to tease others and treats everything coldly.
• Kana Suzuki is polite and graceful, despite coming from a poor family.
• Nagi Kodachi is Kakei's fearless and slightly eccentric neighbor.
