And although Dark Hope: A Puzzle Adventure uses a steampunk setting, this is not manifested in all aspects. Here, the main character comes to his senses in an abandoned room, which, as it turns out, is part of a large complex. The character does not understand at all what is happening and what to do next, so he decides to explore this place. Some places seem creepy, and the further the gamer goes, the stronger the feeling of fear becomes.Dark Hope: A Puzzle Adventure is initially positioned as a horror, so the tension and the oppressive atmosphere will be maintained throughout the entire time. Any extraneous sound of unknown origin, the creaking of floorboards or door hinges makes you tense, even taking into account the fact that all the rooms have a sufficient level of lighting. As for the gameplay itself, everything is quite simple here. Most of the time is spent moving around the locations, where players have to look for any clues or things that will provide information about this place. As you progress, the system will introduce puzzles, each of which involves the use of new mechanics. This can be picking a lock, activating a mechanism with a preliminary search for a key card, pressing keys in the correct sequence and several other similar quests. At the same time, there is no map or anything that will help you navigate the area. Therefore, you need to carefully examine the territory and remember your own movements so as not to walk in circles.
