Dead Forest is a stillborn project about a mystical forest and the hero's somnambulistic wanderings in a cage of his own illusions. Despite the sustained atmosphere, mainly based on visual design, the Dead Forest game does not inspire much desire to play it to the end. During the entire time spent in this dull turtle-walking simulator, exactly two events occur - the appearance of a mysterious ghost trying to tell the hero something, and the search for ritual books around the entire perimeter of a foggy location with lagging textures.The protagonist's task is as simple as a felt boot - he must wake up. And this is the only motivation for action for a player confused by the lack of adequate content. And the most offensive thing, perhaps, is that the reward for the efforts will not be a full-fledged video, nor a short, crookedly animated cutscene, nor even a clarifying letter, but a banal awakening, which after a mournful walk and a ritual performed according to all the rules you least expect. Well, at least something, at least a hint of a plot or at least a booklet with a dream book in the appendix to the craft?.. Game over.The plot component is absent. Control is represented only by the WSAD buttons, and besides, there is no ability to switch to running. And the game did not want to put into a nightmare the character of a primitive, but sinister antagonist, who, perhaps, would have corrected the situation for the better.
