The small provincial town of Greenvale is shaken by a murder of unprecedented cruelty in Deadly Premonition: The Directors Cut. The sequel to the horror adventure Deadly Premonition tells the story of the death of a simple waitress named Anna, who is killed in a creepy ritual. FBI agent Francis York Morgan arrives to investigate the case, because he already has a lot of experience - a series of similar crimes occurred in many US states. The hero uses the profiling method in his work, and he has no equal. True, the detective also has his shortcomings, for example, Zak is an invisible friend and psychological support, with whom he communicates all the time, and a cup of coffee that helps the boy get clues.Special agent Morgan arrives in town. The protagonist goes to the scene of Anna Graham's death, which was discovered by local children. The girl was naked, with her stomach ripped open, and her chest covered with hair - a sight that is both scary and beautiful. Greenvale itself, although a nice and quiet town, but this is only at first glance. In fact, there are some horrors here, for example, one local legend says that a man in a red cloak comes here in the rain. People believe, so they lock all public buildings - shops, cafeterias, and they themselves sit at home. Secondary quests reveal the local characters, city life. Here is Polly - the owner of the hotel, an old woman, beautiful in her youth, participated in a beauty contest, but received second place after Sigourney, who is inseparable from her saucepan. In the process, York looks for clues that he connects into a sequence of frames. Here is a slightly unconventional investigation, because the protagonist is sure that a serial killer maniac cannot be caught if you act according to the laws of logic. What is more to be afraid of is not the crime itself and the danger threatening the hero, but the fact that the gamer will need patience and time to penetrate the internal logic of the game itself. A certain time limit is given for completing tasks, and you also have to complete side quests, drive a car, bypassing checkpoints, go fishing, and also sleep and solve rare puzzles. Periodically, Francis goes to an otherworldly alternative world with omnipresent howling ghosts that you need to shoot. The developers redesigned the graphics, made simpler controls, added battles with ghosts and a 3D mode.
