In Deep Despair 2 you need to explore the location, collect resources, create improved items that are capable of producing greater efficiency at a lower cost. The first goal that needs to be achieved for survival is to build a primitive shelter for the night. Since in the dark time of day various monsters crawl out onto the surface of the earth, which can easily destroy the protagonist under cover of night. As soon as the shelter, workbench and harvest are open and used, life will immediately become easier, and when building a bed, skipping dangerous times of day will become available. There are no training missions, at the start the player is immediately thrown into a hostile world, where he himself, by trial and error, finds the best combinations of actions, understands the mechanics and aspects of the passage. From food in Deep Despair 2 at the initial stages, the unit will eat berries, found or grown fruits and vegetables, since they are easy to find, require minimal care, but do not provide long-term satiety. The map has several levels: the surface, where agriculture is carried out, housing is arranged, and mines, which are dangerous branched corridors where you can find valuable resources, from underground ores to rare plants.Having built equipment, weapons and armor for the hero, you can engage in combat battles with enemies. They are diverse, from various monsters to skeletons and evil spirits. Enemies differ in skills and fighting style, can engage in hand-to-hand skirmishes or fire from medium and long distances, attack in groups or individually, have clear timing of attacks, speed of movement. Although the arsenal is very diverse, it still does not allow you to easily deal with antagonists. When running, swinging or blocking, a large amount of energy is used, which, when exhausted, will force the character to slowly step with his feet, while the local animals eat him up.
