Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive is a tactical strategy using a Western setting. The gamer will have to control a team of 6 characters, each of whom stands out from the crowd thanks to a set of abilities, different weapons and appearance. Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive tells the story of how the protagonists decide to confront the famous villain nicknamed El Diablo in order to imprison him in a prison cell. The story campaign takes place in El Paso in 1881.Most of the tasks performed by the player during the single-player campaign use stealth mechanics, but sometimes there is an opportunity to engage in open firefights with superior bandit forces. This project gave birth to an entire franchise with the same name, which included two more numbered games in the series.Characters controlled by the gamer:

• John Cooper - the main character and leader of the team. Has the highest rate of fire among all shooters in the Wild West. Wields a revolver called Remington. Also, he carries a knife, which is suitable for silent elimination and throwing at short distances.
• Samuel Williams - conducts aimed shooting with a Winchester rifle. Understood in explosives, successfully applying his knowledge in practice.
• Doc McCoy - a doctor who heals the wounds of the entire team. Armed with a long-barreled Colt Buntline revolver.
• Pablo Sanchez is a man with a gangster past, originally from Mexico. Has a double-barreled sawed-off shotgun.
• Mia Yun is a girl from China who poisons enemies with darts.
• Kate O'Hara is a skilled sharper. Loves to use a three-barreled Derringer pistol. Has good physical training, which allows her to quickly and powerfully attack with a kick.
