Disruptor is a first-person shooter with unique mechanics and a storyline. You take on the role of Jack Curtis, a new recruit to the LightStormer Corps, along with your comrade Troy Alexander. Psionic abilities are used - skills that you can use to improve your combat strategies. These abilities include Shock, Drain, Heal, Blast, and Shield, each with a specific use and cost. The story unfolds as Jack and Troy receive psionic implants after completing their training missions. Jack's campaign is similar to that of his older brother and commanding officer Blake Curtis, as well as their late father, a highly respected LightStormer and close friend of United Nations President Krieger. The story takes a turn when Blake gets a call about a space station in Jupiter's orbit, captured by cryopirates. Jack is sent to the station to initiate a self-destruct sequence under the watchful eye of a mysterious girl named Eva. Gameplay revolves around using psionic abilities to solve various problems. Shock ability allows you to shock enemies, useful in short- to medium-range combat. Drain targets and weaken enemies while replenishing psionic points. Heal is a vital ability that restores health at the cost of high psionic costs. Blast is a powerful attack that deals significant damage and generates orbs that replenish psionic points. Shield provides temporary protection, useful during intense battles.
