The game is cooperative because the story is divided into two parts. First - Survival. It is based on three phases of the day: day, evening and night. During the day, your character quietly survives, collects items, crafts new ones, eats, and runs Maxwell's errands. In the evening, he receives a warning that darkness is coming, and Charlie (the game's antagonist) is about to get loose. At night you can do everything the same as during the day, only the character will hardly see, he may go crazy, and Charlie will easily kill you with one or two strokes, and that's the end of the game. The main goal of the character during the day is to find five portals to jump to another game mode.

Adventure is a survival simulator for the smartest. Don't Starve Together has over 20 characters to play as, and they have their own needs. You will always have to keep an eye on the hero's state of mind, hunger and temperature. The first chapters show that volatile weather can make you die. The second chapter is the same permafrost, but here there will be raids by hounds, from which it's easy to be safe if you look at the ground - the more bones around, the closer the danger.

The point of the game is to survive in a strange, mysterious, but interesting world. Each chapter tells the story of your character, and at the end, you have to get Maxwell out of all this madness, who has long since lost his mind, but does a perfect job of imitating a healthy person.
