In Dr. Muto, players take on the role of the protagonist, a mad scientist on a mission to restore his destroyed home planet of Midway. Armed with the versatile Splizz Gun, Dr. Muto can extract DNA from enemies, electrocute opponents, and shoot lasers to navigate a variety of environments. The core mechanics revolve around Dr. Muto's unique ability to transform into five different creatures, each offering special additions. To unlock these transformations, you need to collect items such as isotopes and animal DNA scattered throughout the game. In addition to morphing, there are seven gadgets that can be used to improve the overall process. The story of Dr. Muto unfolds as a result of the protagonist's attempt to provide Midway with free renewable energy. Unfortunately, the ambitious project fails due to sabotage by Professor Burnital, a rival of Dr. Muto. As a result, a catastrophe destroys Midway, leaving the hero and his lab as the only survivors. Undeterred, the protagonist intends to reconstruct his home planet by creating the Genitor 9000. This will require traveling to neighboring planets, collecting 4250 isotopes and 86 bits of terra. Although the task seems difficult, only 80% of the isotopes are needed to complete the campaign, and some are difficult to obtain due to the complexity of the design.
