Events Drakensang: The River of Time will be told from the perspective of the dwarf Forgrimm, who recalls the brightest moments of the past. The action will take place in a port city steeped in crime and corruption. Drakensang: The River of Time, despite the fact that it is a sequel to the game of the same name, acts as a prequel and happened 23 years before the first part.
The dynamic world of Nadoret will react to your actions. The city will change as you progress, offering to meet new heroes on the passed streets, get additional quests, and all the events that happened and shook the streets will be covered in newspapers or in the dialogues of local residents. Depending on the chosen gender, race and class, the gameplay is significantly transformed. The classes are made up of warriors, mages, thieves, archers, pirates, and barbarians. Depending on the chosen specialization, individual tasks will be available: thieves must enter the warehouse, warriors will patrol the streets of the city, and magicians will carry out rescue missions. The gameplay includes many playable classes, spells, weapons, items, etc. All of them allow you to create many effective combinations against the enemy. Thoughtful tactics and a well-assembled set of skills will allow you to emerge from the fight as a winner. There is a tactical pause, which allows you to set all further actions for your heroes. Rare items such as a teardrop of a dragon or a piece of a legendary sword can be used to create unique weapons. An alchemy skill is useful, allowing you to create powerful potions. All the characters in the party interact with each other: they enter into skirmishes, joke at each other, etc. The developers tried to bring interesting and individual traits to all the characters, be it a villain-magician, outwardly reminiscent of Dr. Salvatore or a hero with the appearance of Beowulf, but the character of Joan of Arc.
A well-thought-out role-playing system offers to master many diplomatic skills: Bargaining, Knowledge of people, Seduction, Etiquette, Persuasion and Knowledge of the streets. Each of them will offer their own variations of the passage of certain tasks, and can also affect the outcome of the dialogue. Since the main character does not walk by himself, but with a party of partners, the game takes into account the skills of all fighters in the team, so you can use the abilities of a diplomatic character in dialogues or rely on the combat skills of your partner.
