Dune 2000: Long Live the Fighters! offers to be transferred to a fantasy world, where the militant Houses - Harkonnen, Ordos and Atreids, fight for spices on the planet Dune. The Great Emperor Frederick Corrino IV signed a document stating that whoever can collect more precious material will gain the right to the source, and will be able to extract all resources without limit. The plot is conveyed through an introductory cut-scene, where live actors are involved.Non-player factions in Dune 2000:

• Harkonnen - live on the planet Giedi Prime and rely solely on military might and brute force.
• Mercenaries - will support any side if it offers money. If they suffer heavy losses during a battle, they will flee without thinking or hesitation, leaving the allied army to be torn apart by the enemy.
• Smugglers - most are neutral to the player, they are engaged in the extraction of spices and their illegal transportation to trade zones. They are also capable of moving military equipment.
• Fremen - the indigenous inhabitants of the planet Dune, adapted to the harsh conditions of the terrain. They have unique weapons: Ornithopters, Sonic Tank. Depending on the chosen campaign, they can either help in the confrontation or be on the other side of the barricades.

The passage is divided into missions where you need to extract spices, build buildings - a wind trap, factories, storage, fortifications that will protect objects from sand erosion, earn solarium (in-game currency), buy and develop military equipment and soldiers. All actions take place in real time, at any moment there is a chance that the base will be attacked by enemies, trying to recapture buildings or military equipment.
