Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain is a third-person shooter that tells the story of an EDF soldier who fights against alien invaders in 2044. The game has a choice of four classes: an agile infantryman, a fighter with a jetpack, a tank that can install energy shields and an insect rider. Each of them has their own special moves and there is customization of appearance. Classes can be changed in each mission, depending on the situation. Each killed enemy drops energy gems, which can be spent on summoning equipment or healing, but their main use is pumping up health and buying new, more powerful weapons. The Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain campaign has 52 missions full of chaos and battles with giant creatures in a variety of locations. They can be completed at five difficulty levels. Players will have to fight off hordes of alien invaders. Among them are various types of mutated earthly fauna - ants, beetles and snakes, huge monsters reaching 300 meters in height, warships and colossal combat installations. The game can be played in pairs on a split-screen or in six players online.
