Emily is Away Too continues the plot of the original text adventure. As before, the project tells about the life and relationships of people communicating via the Internet. At the beginning of the story, the protagonist is a high school student. Behind the scenes, before the events shown, he meets two girls - Evelina and Emily. Both study on the same campus as the main character. They communicate via a messenger, reminiscent of the classic versions of ICQ or MNS. The narrative is stretched out over 5 different chapters. Between events in them, there are gaps from a week to several months. The first and second chapters are entirely devoted to getting to know the characters better, in particular - Emily and Evelina. Then the game will force you to choose between one of them due to the developing tense situation. The last stages are devoted to testing the relationship that has begun with even greater stress. In addition, this time there are even more endings than in the original. For example, it is allowed not to start a romantic relationship at all or to quarrel with everyone around. The gameplay is still basically something like a visual novel or even a text quest. Basically, the player's participation comes down to choosing answer options in dialogues. However, the new part of the series tries to diversify the gameplay. In addition to love interests, there are also friends with whom you can also correspond. It is also allowed to choose avatars and wander into local parody social networks and video hosting sites.
