The combat system focuses on action, where you have to do rolls, attack, block attacks. There are no timings, it is important to attack, heal, and defend in time. The ATB scale is replenished with attacks and is spent on using items, special moves, and magic. Characters behave differently during combat, using different weapons, moves, and skills. Fights take place in real time, where the gamer controls one hero. The enemy is able to interrupt the use of special moves and kill if the hero is being healed by magic at this time.
