The gameplay of Freedom Fighters revolves around the events of an alternative America, which was captured by the insidious Russians. Chris Stone, a hard-working plumber, who strongly disagrees with the totalitarian regime, joins the fight against the dictatorship. Together with 12 other freedom fighters, he will sabotage and defeat the enemy, gradually discovering leadership qualities in himself. During the game, you will have to free up supplies, collect weapons and recruit new units to fight in New York. You can go on a mission yourself or take friends with you who will follow the hero, protect him and cover his back. Missions are set by the rebel command:

• Raise the flag - means the end of the mission.
• Free the prisoners - you will have to run around the city in search of the prison cells and open them, and then take them to the sewer hatch.
• Blow up the building - the character receives explosives, installs them and does everything to blow up the interfering object in time.

You can play Freedom Fighters both alone and in multiplayer mode. In the process, you will have to solve many problems from a third person. Gradually moving up the career ladder, the hero goes from a simple fighter to the leader of the group. The plot is linear, but each mission is interconnected, and the subsequent task directly depends on the outcome of the battle.
