Gettysburg 1863 depicts the Battle of Gettysburg, which took place more than 100 years ago. History experts have not forgotten that the southerners lost the battle, and with it the war. The victory of the North finally changed the reality of the United States of America. The South began to submit to the northerners, turning the United States into a powerful industrial state. No one can change the past, but this can be done in a game based on this war. The developers tried and exactly repeated: the battlefield, combat units, numbers, location, command. Everything corresponds to historical chronicles.

Gettysburg 1863 has rules that concern weather conditions, squad placement, engineering operations, reinforcements, ammunition and weapons depots. All instructions are in French, but English or other languages ​​can be found on the Internet. The battle itself covers three days of civil war action. The gameplay is historically accurate, with only 5 scenarios covering the battles. To win, it is important to take care of personnel, combat analysis, cavalry, tactical functions.

The strategy takes place in the current time mode. The timer burns hours inexorably, cutting off from regrouping or supply, taking away valuable minutes. The order is given to one regiment at a time. There is a win-win strategy: the artillery is divided into 2-3 groups, after which the composition must be dispersed. The rest is a piece of cake. The one with more artillery will win (the amount of ammunition is not taken into account). The more opponents are destroyed, the higher the chances of triumph. If you watch, you will see that the opponent acts according to the same scheme. The human mind will be able to outplay the computer.
