Gladio is a 3D hack-and-slash with hordes of aggressive textures clad in varying degrees of armor. Five types of enemies rush at a lone gladiator with a sword from the dark corners of labyrinths, represented by identical brick walls dividing the locations of the levels. Gladio offers to wave a blade in three arenas with different decorations - winter snowdrifts, summer meadows and a sunset landscape with sparse vegetation. The hero can dodge enemy attacks, jumping almost to the very sky, like a real athlete, or fight back when a squad of uniformed soldiers finally catches up with a lone warrior. There is no other way to survive and strengthen your strength here. The health bar is reflected in the upper left corner of the screen. It quickly melts when enemies “pinch off” pixels from the character, poking him with spears and two-handed blades, but it is restored quite quickly if you do not get into anyone's hot hand for some time. Heavily equipped knights deal a lot of damage, but the game rewards you with an extra XP bar for killing them. Aggressors are recommended to be thrashed into meat, cut in half, pierced, and spilled red blots on the ground, so that the protagonist builds up his own endurance, withstanding the enemy onslaught. Despite the numerical superiority in the enemy camp and the soldiers' manner of surrounding the victim like a wolf pack, the fighter whose eyes the player sees has a tactical advantage. He is able to deftly maneuver, using the environment.
