Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865) is a multifaceted strategy game that takes place on a global map, and during battles, the gamer will have to control soldiers on the battlefield in real time. The setting is the era of the Civil War in the United States of America. Gamers are invited to fight for the chosen side (the Union or the Confederation), trying to lead it to absolute power over the entire territory of the United States. The historical authenticity of the project allowed the developers to use the names of real commanders, generals, admirals and other personalities who took direct part. The game provides 5 separate scenarios for the start of the campaign - pre-war time and 4 dates with a frequency of one year. They cover all the defining events of those times, for example, the incident in the Appomattox court at the end of the armed conflict. The gamer has the power to influence what is happening and modify real historical events, observing how the situation will change at one point in time or another. The gameplay consists of developing your own army, moving it around the map of the country to carry out various maneuvers, which will allow you to gain an advantage over your opponent. There is a huge number of tactical and strategic decisions that can be used for the final victory over the enemy. Even a small force can defeat the enemy in a specific battle with the proper use of the strengths of your own units, which differ in their set of characteristics.
