In GRiEF, the user controls a young man who has some not very pleasant events in his life. He is in a hospital with empty corridors, scattered syringes, cigarette butts and broken wheelchairs for transporting people. You can't touch all these and other objects, because otherwise the protagonist will instantly die. All the time the guy hears voices that tell him that he should continue to fight for life. In parallel with this, there is musical accompaniment created with the help of keyboard instruments and a violin.Gradually, the main character in GRiEF understands that his father fell ill with a fatal cancer, after which he passed away. Now the guy needs to go through 5 levels, each of which represents the acceptance and understanding of this tragic news. Each of these stages has a separate color scheme and artistic embodiment. They represent the stages of life that the user goes through. The atmosphere and soundtrack of each level are individual.The protagonist has the ability to move around the area and jump on platforms. Each level contains its own traps, opponents, puzzles, obstacles and goals. Puzzles are solved by interacting with the surrounding world. In total, you have to go through 5 stages of accepting a sad fact. First, the guy denies that this happened to him. Then he feels anger at the whole world and all people. With the help of bargaining, the protagonist wants to fix the situation and save his parent. After this, depression sets in. The final stage will be accepting the event that has happened. The game ends with the protagonist visiting his father's grave and placing a rose on it.
