Grotesque Tactics: Real Scoundrels is a fun fantasy about a zealous graduate of the Military Academy of the Kingdom of Gloria named Drake. After a humiliating failure in the exam, the young man intends to commit suicide by feeding himself to a carnivorous mushroom. However, an attack of stupid maximalism unexpectedly leads the hero to the path of the chosen ones. After a chance meeting with the hero of all mankind, the Holy Avatar, and the remnants of the royal guard battered by the Dark Church, Drake realizes the extent of his own responsibility for the safety of his homeland and willingly switches from suffering to heroic adventures. To save Gloria, he sets out to assemble a squad of free mercenaries from among criminals, murderers and various scum.The gameplay of Grotesque Tactics is presented as a turn-based RPG: characters move around locations in real time, and when they encounter enemies, they fight in tactical battle mode. To replenish travel supplies, exchange jokes and resurrect fallen units, there are special points - taverns with shops. The template battles in Real Scoundrels will probably disappoint fans of complex strategy: mages and shooters attack from behind the armored backs of knights, periodically using their kung fu on beautifully drawn fat bosses.Each player takes a position on a field marked with cells, which makes the battle arena resemble a chessboard. You can use items from your inventory at any time, saving your moves. The highlight of the gameplay, which creates a touch of irony and mockery of popular cliches of the genre, is the inadequate behavior of the protagonists in the face of danger. For example, the veteran Avatar is prone to nostalgia for past glory, and Drake himself suffers from mood swings; the goblin often deserts, and the ladies from the squad prefer feuds based on jealousy to saving the kingdom.
