GTFO is a cooperative first-person shooter. The gameplay includes more than 10 levels of varying difficulty. There can be up to 4 participants in matches at the same time. Gamers take control of suicide bombers who were sent to extract valuable artifacts in an underground complex. There they will encounter terrifying monsters created by radiation and gene mutation. The main characters are well armed, have powerful firearms and bladed weapons. But they will face hundreds of creatures of large and small sizes. Each enemy has its own special abilities and good survivability. Footsteps, shots and other noise can summon even more opponents. Sometimes you will need to move in stealth mode. Characters learn about their past and must work together harmoniously to succeed. Many elements of the surrounding world are destructible, which allows you to break through new passages or block the paths of monsters. Danger in GTFO expects every turn. Players move through corridor locations, exploring a vast underground complex. There are many useful items and tools scattered throughout the area that allow you to increase your firepower. Each mission includes certain objectives that need to be completed, after which users will need to return. The developers created a frightening and creepy atmosphere, which was influenced by the game environment and music by Simon Viklund.
