Gunstar Heroes takes players to an alternate reality, where humanity has achieved impressive technological progress. A certain evil corporation created a powerful robot whose strength could be compared to God. The villains' base was located on the Moon, and the attack was planned for Earth. Caring heroes, who are called Gunstars, decided to fight back and restore order on the planet. Red, Blue, Green and Yellow go to the Moon to fight Golden-Silver and protect civilians. After a long battle, the protagonists still managed to win. It was decided to fall into a lethargic sleep, hoping that evil would not be reborn. However, the attackers were found years later. They call themselves the Empire and are trying to find crystals to revive the android.Gameplay involves a side-scrolling camera view. The gamer can play the campaign alone or in co-op with a friend. The gameplay consists of completing levels one by one. The first 4 can be completed in any order, and the next ones will be unlocked in turn.
