The game takes place in the future, in a world of high technology and futuristic weapons. The player will take command of the defense of a certain sector, which is being attacked by aliens on flying saucers. His task is to accumulate energy resources and build defensive lines in order to stay alive as long as possible.Energy production in Harvest: Massive Encounter is the task of power plants, which do not have their own weapons. To protect them from enemy ship attacks, you need to place towers with laser guns and missile systems around the perimeter. They require not only electrical power supplied by special pylons, but also construction materials, which are produced by mines. The attackers are also not the same, as they are represented by 10 types of opponents. The variety of the gameplay is increased by 4 different game modes. The events described take place on 3 planets, which differ in visual design.
