Hearthlands invites the user to lead a kingdom during the Middle Ages. The city-building simulator is made in a fantasy setting. It is proposed to manage subjects not directly, but indirectly - by building settlements and cities, distributing resources and establishing diplomatic relations. It is important for the inhabitants to create good conditions so that people respect, warriors themselves go over to the side of the ruler, magicians master new spells, and in the kingdom itself there are real heroes. Procedural generation of the world, game cards, and even protagonists and their opponents works here.The city-building simulator offers different types of characters, for example, both heroes and laborers, who have different characters and behavioral characteristics. The player himself chooses the strategy for passing, for example, you can change the initial parameters, focusing on construction in the gameplay, or on survival. You should provide your subordinates with the necessary resources, create goods, developing the industrial sector, as well as thinking over an economic strategy, and conducting trade and diplomacy. To defend the city from various enemies, including monsters and simply dangerous wanderers, it is worth creating a powerful army. In the process, the gamer is able to create a powerful and invincible state, with strict control from the ruler, or a simple settlement with an emphasis on workers who live in the favor of the ruler and well-being, or build a full-fledged trading empire, a fortified fortress city, a bandit camp. All these opportunities are available in sandbox mode, and in the Campaign, the user monitors the happiness of residents, their provision with various goods, production processes, food, defense, research of technologies, as well as obtaining spells.
