Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is a prequel to Homeworld, a futuristic real-time strategy game. This time, the events take place on the ground in the desert of the planet Kharak. The new part offers immersion in the atmosphere of the first game, but with a new and updated style. In order to win, the player must lead and lead an entire fleet and go through endless sand dunes. In the prequel to the first game, the plot revolves around a mysterious anomaly, which was conventionally nicknamed the Jarasi Object (the name was given in honor of the researcher who discovered it in the south among the dunes). As soon as a scientific expedition of the Northern Kiith Coalition (clans) was sent to Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak to study the phenomenon of interest in more detail, it turned out that everything is not as simple as it was originally assumed. The main character of the story is Rachel S'jet, who leads the expedition. Her brother Jacob was the senior assistant of the ship's commander Ifrit Naabal, whom the heroine intends to find and learn his fate at any cost. On the way to such a noble goal, religious fanatics and extremists Gaalsiens, who worship the god Sujuk, who were expelled to the sandy region, will appear. The leader of the dangerous Bedouins is K'Had Sajuuk. The gamer will have to give commands to lead detachments of armored vehicles and the fleet. The army consists of both lightly armored fast and maneuverable vehicles, and heavily armored and powerful aircraft carriers and cruisers. A particular emphasis is placed on the tactical component in battles. The location of the troops matters, be it the height or the dunes. The strategy can offer a network mode, which is available for single and multiplayer.
