Independent Horizons introduces users to Tom, a 20-year-old man who was adopted as an infant by a middle-class couple, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz. Immediately after, the protagonist's adoptive parents learned that they were expecting a child, and Polina entered their lives. Although the main characters are not related by blood, they grew up as siblings and formed a bond that gave Tom the sense of family he had dreamed of for many years.The plot begins with Tom entering college and becoming a completely independent person, which brings certain disadvantages, but also gives very interesting and strong advantages. Independent Horizons uses a point-and-click format that allows players to make choices that shape the guy's interactions with other characters. This includes friendships, romantic encounters, and moments of personal growth.
