Into the Dark: Ultimate Trash Edition is an adventure action shooter with a first-person view, with a huge amount of violence happening on the monitor screen almost every second. The project, developed by an indie team, is inspired by a huge number of trash films, from the so-called category B. This fact explains the low level of graphic design, the specially screwed up voice acting of characters and enemies, as well as the degree of madness occurring in the locations of the fictional universe. The gamer will have a long adventure with a ton of dirty, black humor that goes beyond the boundaries, references to popular culture of our time and Easter eggs on various projects. There is an option to control the gameplay using a gamepad, in addition to the classic option with a keyboard and mouse. The plot of the single-player campaign revolves around a character named Peter O'Brannon - a private detective. It is he who falls under the control of the player for the entire passage. The protagonist does not like his job, because it consists of monotonous surveillance of unfaithful husbands who run to mistresses behind the backs of their own wives, as well as in search of lost dogs and other boring duties. The only employer that pleases sad Peter is the insurance company GlobalSecure Inc. Samantha Miller – Head of Investigation of Fraudulent Cases for the Purpose of Extorting Money from the Company. It is she who entrusts the dirty work to OBrannon with the hope of strict compliance with the requirements. The plot consists of 11 levels with varying degrees of madness happening on them. The player is provided with a wide choice of weapons of all possible calibers to kill unwanted scammers. In addition to shootouts, the user is offered to solve 68 puzzles located on the way to moving further along the location.
