Islands of the Caliph takes users to a fascinating world where old RPG mechanics are organically combined with an enchanting tapestry of Middle Eastern legends and beliefs. The gamer will embark on an exciting journey through an imaginary island civilization, where adventures await you around every corner. Discover uncharted territories, come face to face with mythical monsters lurking in the shadows, and find hidden treasures. It features grid-based movement and real-time combat, giving the player the freedom to choose their path. The vast open world offers many options for the development of events, so there are no two identical paths. Armed with a variety of weapons, including scimitars, shamshirs, and jambias, the gamer can engage in combat that is as varied as the world through which he moves.The genius of the work lies not only in its gameplay mechanics, but also in its complex cartographic system. The intuitive map is dynamically updated as you delve into uncharted territories, and the general world map helps you find the most important quest objects. Deviating from the linear narrative structure, Islands of the Caliph places the burden of storytelling directly on the participant. Interaction with various NPCs opens up key quests that can either direct the central storyline or embellish it. Rich in the mythology of Arabic, Persian and African cultures, the project introduces players to a variety of creatures taken from these traditions - ghouls and genies, among others.
