In LEGO Builders Journey, you will have to control a child. It was assembled from small yellow and blue construction blocks. A single-player campaign consists of 35 levels. The goal in each is to overcome the route from point A to point B, overcoming obstacles. At the end of the path, the main character will be reunited with his parents. Each time, the protagonist will end up on an island surrounded by emptiness. Locations are completely made of Lego blocks. Instead of legs, the child has a yellow part with a convex base. He cannot move freely around the map. If he stood on a flat smooth surface or the same circle, he would slip and fall. Therefore, the hero can only stand on round holes. Their number on the map is limited. The main obstacle is blue rivers. The protagonist is unable to overcome water without additional parts. When a free figure appears on the island in LEGO Builders Journey, it needs to find a use. The constructor parts are used to build dams across rivers, buildings. There are 2 orange flat elements with grooves. These are the main tools for overcoming obstacles in the levels. Lego parts imitate natural locations. First, the son and his parent are in the desert. The child needs to build a sand castle from beige elements and cross the lake using long brown parts. Then they get to a green swamp with a river of mud. The area turns into a post-apocalyptic planet, where all the water has turned into liquid industrial waste, and rusty structures are scattered around.
