Lose Ctrl features a core mechanic based on constantly changing the functions of the gamer's keyboard and mouse. Input controls work unpredictably, fundamentally changing the interaction with the environment from moment to moment. This deliberate disruption forms the basis of the entire experience. Built into this structure is a plot with dark humor, a sarcastic outlook, and an exploration of philosophical themes. In addition, the title contains a multiplayer mode, allowing several people to have fun at the same time on one system.A central feature of Lose Ctrl is the deliberate distortion of familiar control schemes, which forces you to constantly adapt. A routine action, such as pressing a key to move forward, may suddenly cause you to move backwards or perform a completely different command. This instability continues throughout the game, increasing the feeling of unpredictability well beyond the initial stages. The game uses this mechanic not only to increase difficulty, but also as a tool to explore multiple possibilities through its meta-narrative approach. A local co-op feature allows for co-op play. The story focuses on Billy, a character whose life is initially shown as a routine of commuting, filling out spreadsheets, and shopping. Gradually, the things around him stop working properly, wreaking havoc on his existence. This echoes the player's own feelings, as their ability to navigate and interact weakens in parallel with Billy's worsening situation.
