Makai Agito is a dungeon crawler RPG set in the modern world. The story revolves around the city of Mokumatsu, a place suffering from a witch's curse that returns every 13 years during an event known as the Witching Hour. Gamers control a group of characters, including two journalists investigating this phenomenon, who will have to face Mysterious Entities borrowed from world folklore and mythology.The main objective is to uncover the mystery of the recurring disaster and find a way to break its cycle forever, immersing the player in an atmosphere that combines detective and supernatural horror. Exploration in Makai Agito takes place in first person, while the player moves through dungeon locations designed with elements of mystery and horror. Combat encounters use a turn-based system that requires strategic placement of party members in front or back positions to gain tactical advantage over Lovecraftian and mythological foes.The key mechanic involves recruiting supernatural creatures; you can convince dozens of different monsters to join your cause by offering money or certain items during skirmishes. These recruited creatures form the basis of the team's offensive and defensive capabilities against the otherworldly threats that have filled Mokumatsu. In addition to recruitment, this title allows for deeper control of the collected creatures, which is a central element of the squad's survival.
