Maneater begins with a film crew of a television series filming a material about a famous hunter of deadly sharks. His name is Pierre Leblanc and he hunts with his son Kyle. One day they attack an adult bull shark and use a harpoon to get to it. Having killed the underwater inhabitant on the beach, they learn that she was pregnant. Having delivered a still living shark, Pete makes an incision with a knife to leave a mark and identify it.
