Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope builds on the established flow of its predecessor Kingdom Battle. Familiar characters like Mario, Luigi and Peach, along with their Rabbid counterparts, return to form the player roster. They are joined by new additions Edge, Rosalina the Rabbid and Bowser, each bringing their own unique abilities to the team. For the first time, the Rabbids are fully voiced, adding even more personality.A notable departure from the original is the more open-ended level design. Turn-based tactical battles have also undergone changes, abandoning the grid scheme of its predecessor. In addition to strategic battles, players will now encounter enemies in real-time outside of the turn-based combat system. This dynamic shift in combat mechanics allows for greater flexibility and creativity in combat. Mario can even be swapped out for another character, opening up new tactical possibilities. A key objective is to rescue the Sparks scattered throughout the galaxy. These Sparks grant special abilities, providing valuable assistance in combat. This adds an extra layer of strategy as players will need to decide which Sparks to prioritize in their quest to save the galaxy.
