Marvel Nemesis: Rise Of The Imperfects introduces a dynamic process, pitting iconic Marvel characters such as Venom, Wolverine, Iron Man and Spider-Man against a range of original characters created or owned by EA. The combat system emphasizes mobility, drawing parallels to famous games such as Power Stone, Super Smash Bros. and Ehrgeiz. In contrast to the complex combat mechanics, it uses a simplified approach that allows for more fluid movement during battles. Notably, the inclusion of finishing moves like Fatalities adds a strategic element, which becomes available when an opponent's health drops below 25%. The plot unfolds as the heroes confront the alien invasion, and Daredevil turns to Electra for help. A dramatic encounter unfolds at the Daily Bugle building, where Elektra battles Daredevil, freeing him from an alien device controlled by Niles Van Roekel. In the ensuing chaos, Roekel unleashes his Imperfects on the city, sparking clashes between these original characters and established Marvel heroes. As the story progresses, the heroes discover the alien devices and engage in fierce battles to free the infected humans from Roekel's influence. At the same time, a character named Maya undergoes rigorous training to fulfill Roekel's ambition to create the perfect warrior. Taking the name Paragon, Maya systematically destroys the alien devices, aligning her path with the heroes fighting the alien threat. Intertwining narratives create a multi-layered and engaging storyline, offering a variety of experiences.
