In Maximo Vs. Army of Zin, players go in search of the main character Maximo, who continues to search for his lost love Sofia. Next to him is Grim, the Grim Reaper's companion. The story unfolds with a sudden onslaught of mechanical creatures known as the Army of Zin, wreaking havoc on villages and mercilessly attacking the inhabitants. These automatons are not ordinary enemies; they draw power from lost souls and were thought to have been sealed in the vault of Hawkmoor Castle after a battle half a millennium ago. However, the actions of the enigmatic Lord Bane have freed them once again. It is based on hack and slash combat and platforming combined with an armor system that reflects damage as a result of losing protective equipment. Maximo starts with two levels of armor, gradually increasing to three and four, each providing increased defense. Various challenges must be overcome, and the threat of depleting armor adds a strategic layer to the experience. In addition, Maximo can undergo a grim transformation, temporarily turning into a powerful Grim Reaper using souls collected from the Zin Army. In this form, the protagonist gains invulnerability and increased speed, although the transformation is limited in time, but it can be extended through upgrades. Throughout the game, the character encounters villagers in danger, and for saving them, various rewards can be obtained: from new sets of armor to valuable advice. These bonuses become indispensable as the ward faces the merciless onslaught of the Zin Army, requiring both skillful combat and strategic resource management to overcome the upcoming challenges.
