Medieval Engineers offers to try on the role of a medieval engineer. In a construction simulator with sandbox elements, the gamer creates weapons for the siege, and also designs other various things, builds fortifications, houses, mills, buildings and maintains them. The action covers the period of the 5th-15th centuries and takes place in an open world, where the player is given complete freedom. You will have to build from wood and stone, and the mechanisms operate according to a realistic destruction scheme. At the start, there are 2 modes of play:
- Creative, where the user learns the game's capabilities and tests the basics of control, as well as the flight mode, builds huge buildings from blocks, and there are no reasons for the character to die.
- Survival - does not provide for the rapid development of the area, there is no way to fly around the map, and the character's death can occur at any time due to an enemy attack or various incidents. You can grow plants to provide the character with food.
In the construction simulator, the user can customize some map parameters, for example, change the time of day, add autosave. To build a building, the gamer chooses from different types of blocks a suitable one, for example, from stone, wood, or selects entire walls: with windows, a door, stairs. The hero can use tools in the process - a hammer, a pickaxe, an axe, which allow him to get additional opportunities when building up a certain type of terrain. The destruction system is realistic and is created thanks to the VRAGE Engine. After constructing a building, you can test its strength, where the player uses different objects to inflict damage on the entire structure. During construction, two types of blocks are used - static to create stationary objects, and dynamic - for mobile equipment.
