Metro 2033 Redux is a project with an original plot and additional content: new secret places, monster lairs, opponents and an updated weapon upgrade system. Seven single missions and two difficulty modes have been added - Spartan and Survival. Both require the player to be attentive, react quickly and use ammunition strategically. The graphics of Metro 2033 Redux differ from the original in improved animation, volumetric textures and shaders. The picture looks clear and more realistic, which in turn gives a full immersion in the atmosphere of the post-apocalypse.The action takes place in Moscow, destroyed by a nuclear disaster. The earth's surface is poisoned by radiation, so the surviving people are forced to hide in the subway. Life underground is also unsafe, as mutated monsters find loopholes and penetrate shelters to hunt the inhabitants of the bunkers. The radioactive level at some stations is too high, so the main character named Artyom is forced to carry a gas mask. Of the valuable equipment, the protagonist has a wristwatch that displays the state of the gas mask. The degree of wear of the protective mask is indicated by cracks on the glass surface and the character's heavy breathing.
